MEET THE AUTHOR
Bobby Hadley

Bobby Hadley was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma, in his Grandma Green’s house. When he was just three, his family shifted to California. He was named by his cousin Annalee Cole, who also dealt with her battle with polio at a young age. Growing up in a labor camp community, he confronted many challenges that assisted him in building endurance. A childhood accident brought him to Dr. Kenny, a caring local physician. Dr. Kenny treated his injury and recognized the early signs of polio in his right leg. Because of his quick action, the author could participate in an experimental treatment at the Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. This serious experience stopped the disease in its tracks and truly transformed his life. His journey replicates strength, survival, and optimism, demonstrating the significance of family care and determination.
